Nehal Jajal is a postdoctoral scholar working with Dr. Martina Leveni in the Civil Environmental and Geodetic Engineering (CEGE) department. He completed his PhD from the Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear engineering department at The Ohio State University. During his PhD he developed a strong background in modeling flow, heat transfer, chemistry and numerical methods relevant for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). His research was focused on analyzing radiative heat transfer effects in ammonia combustion simulations. By leveraging these experiences, his current research focus is modeling geothermal energy systems in the PJM region of USA. By performing geothermal reservoir simulations, the techno-economic potential of deploying enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) will be assessed. His long-term goals are to pursue research of sustainable energy technologies and teach at a university.
